Good day!

I'm in the process of creating and researching my Mongol persona. I joined the SCA in the East, where I never really decided on what persona I wanted until right before I moved to the Midrealm. I don't know very many SCA folk here in the Barony of the Middle Marches, (central Ohio) and even though I've been here for a couple of years, I'm still learning my way around the state, so I haven't been to many events.

Are there any of you all this way? If so, I would love to meet up at an event!

Also...I'm suffering archery deprivation. Why is there not more archery here?!?!? You'd think with all the flatness, it'd be perfect for practicing. :D Short of paying a membership fee at a shooting range, any suggestions?

I'm way out West now, in Colorado, but I was in Cleftlands for (deleted) plus years.

You might find archery in the Marche of Gwyntarian; there *used* to be a significant archery practice there (back in, say, 1988?). I'd ask around for contact info for Ian Gourdon of Glenawe (spelling might be incorrect, but he was *the archery guy* out in that neck of the woods for quite some time.

There are also a number of Cleftlanders that arch. I'd ask around there for Aurora de Vie, and get her to introduce you to Merlin, and take it from there - when I was out last October, Merlin showed me a Cho-Ku-Nu he was busy repairing. Amazing piece.

As I said, I'm not out in Boulder, Colorado, and my information is probably WAY out of date, but hopefully *some* things don't change. Best of luck.

Thanks, I know that area a little bit, so it wouldn't be a hardship for me. I checked out Gwyntarian's website, and it appears as they also do not have an Archery Marshal listed. Of course, they're still listing their "next" event as something from 11/08, so maybe things have changed since then. :D

I'll send a message to the Chatelaine there, and I'll check out Cleftlands too. :)

Thank you so much!
